Send Relief leaders are hard at work helping interrupt generational cycles of poverty, along with assisting with adoption and foster care processes, on the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota.

South Dakota’s Pine Ridge Reservation is about an hour southeast of Rapid City, and that’s where Send Relief has partnered with the Chanku Wasté (pronounced “WAH-stay”) Ranch. Chanku Wasté serves the Oglala Lakota people group. Because the area has one of the highest poverty rates in the United States, Send Relief has the opportunity to help interrupt the cycle of poverty. In addition, Send Relief will provide resources to help the large number of families and child welfare workers engaged in foster care and adoption.
