More Than 900 Churches Participate in Send Relief Backpack Day 2022!

On August 7, SBC churches across the nation joined Send Relief to serve local students and schools in celebration of Send Relief Backpack Day 2022. By the end of the day, more than 61,000 struggling families were gifted a backpack full of school supplies to help lift the cost and burden of the back-to-school season.

“We see backpacks as a ministry tool that can meet a variety of needs in vulnerable communities,” shared Josh Benton, Vice President of Send Relief. “A majority of the backpacks were used for back-to-school ministries for underprivileged children to make sure they had the supplies they needed to show up ready for their first day of school.”

From Lancaster, Ohio, to Montebello, California, to Sanford, Florida, 913 churches took advantage of the free backpacks from Send Relief to provide a tangible sign of God’s love and compassion to families in their greatest time of need.
