Drug Rehab Center Graduates Start Church in Kenya

By Send Relief Staff

The COVID-19 pandemic has exacerbated addiction issues worldwide, but you are helping combat grim statistics by funding a drug rehabilitation center in Kenya!

Along with a supervised heroin-specific detox program, participants are given access to counseling services, Bible studies and nutritious meal plans. The center also gives much-needed employment to nationals who have struggled to keep a steady income throughout the pandemic.

One of these employees shared, “Working at the [center] has really helped me grow in my walk with Christ. In the past year, I’ve been really encouraged to see how addicts [can] come out of their slavery. For those who really come to change, I end up sharing the gospel with them and later seeing them baptized. I’ve been able to start a Bible study group, and now I see my disciples turn around and do the exact things I’ve taught them from the Bible. It is really something to celebrate!”

In the past year, more than 20 men of all religious backgrounds have come to know Christ through the rehab facility. Two of the participants have even started their own church plant!

Thank you for caring for those struggling with addiction and for giving them a safe place to heal. Pray for those in need of rehabilitative care to find the center and stay persistent in their journeys to sobriety.
