Overview
Hurricane Fiona made landfall in Puerto Rico as a Category 1 hurricane, nearly 5 years to the day after Hurricane Maria struck the island.
The storm wreaked havoc on the island, bringing 85 mile-per-hour winds, life-threatening flooding, power outages and catastrophic mudslides. The hardest hit regions are expected to be without power for the next several days.
In preparation for the storm, Send Relief pre-positioned emergency meals and disaster response equipment close to the impact zone to be able to respond to needs as soon as the storm passed. Send Relief teams and our Puerto Rico Ministry Center are providing food, working on flood cleanup and repairing homes for impacted families across the island.
Your gifts to the 2022 Hurricane Response Fund are vital to these relief efforts.
Thank you for praying for the people impacted by this massive hurricane, as well as the many volunteers that will be meeting immediate and long-term needs on the island.
