Puerto Rico – Guaynabo
Established after Hurricane Maria, Send Relief partners with local churches across Puerto Rico to bring disaster response, community care, and gospel-centered hope to families facing ongoing hardship.
Ministry Overview
Puerto Rico is a beautiful island with warm, welcoming people. The colorful beaches and year-round tourism are a major driver of the economy.
Yet beyond the postcard images, many families continue to face significant hardship. Between the pandemic, back-to-back earthquakes, and powerful hurricanes, nearly 50 percent of Puerto Rico’s population now lives in poverty, with nearly 2,500 people experiencing homelessness on any given day.
What began after the devastation of Hurricane Maria in 2017 has grown into an ongoing partnership with local churches across the island. Together with short-term mission teams, Send Relief supports disaster response, community outreach, and long-term care — helping meet urgent needs while sharing the hope of Christ.
What We Do
The Puerto Rico Ministry Center serves communities across the island by helping families experience both physical and spiritual restoration.
In partnership with local churches and believers, Send Relief supports disaster response, home repair, and community outreach. Churches and mission teams can participate directly through short-term trips, serving alongside local leaders to meet urgent needs and build lasting relationships.
From responding in times of crisis to maintaining a daily presence in neighborhoods, the team seeks to care for vulnerable families while faithfully sharing the hope of Jesus Christ.
