In 2019, 15,000 children entered the foster care system in Georgia. With more than a decade of service in the area, the Valdosta ministry center prioritizes children in crisis by training churches and parents in best practices for the foster care journey. Whether it’s through monthly mentorship camps, church training, or trauma therapy, the Valdosta center’s goal is to decrease the number of children in foster care while increasing the number of churches that are supporting foster families.
It is in this time of desperate need that you have the greatest opportunity to give practical assistance, make personal connections, and share the gospel.
What will you do:
Teams will help serve families in foster care, families with autism, and families in need as they enjoy a light show that shares the gospel. Teams can help with parking, greeting, serving food, cooking, crafts, and helping direct families. This event shares the gospel through lights as well as gives families the opportunity to make lasting memories with the gospel in mind.
