Appalachia may have beautiful misty mountains and miles of wooded trail, but there is an unspoken side of this region. With unemployment rates higher than anywhere in the USA, issues relating to hunger, low literacy rates, and a recent opioid crisis that has caused more drug overdoses than in the rest of the USA, the need to minister to this impoverished area is evident.
Send Relief established a ministry center with a desire to give people an opportunity to share the gospel. Teams of volunteers assist local churches in meeting the needs in their community – showing mercy and compassion through hand-on engagement.
It is in this time of desperate need that you have the greatest opportunity to give practical assistance, make personal connections, and share the gospel.
