Jamie Butler’s daughter, Charli, had been fighting a vicious battle with brain cancer when she met Tim Tebow. Back then, Tebow was a busy college athlete. But Butler noticed how he took the time to talk and pray with Charli.
When Butler saw a promotion for Tebow’s Night to Shine event—a prom held for children and adults, ages 14 and older, with special needs—she knew her church had to be part of it. They applied to host, and the rest was history.
Night to Shine is an unforgettable prom night experience, centered on God’s love, for people with special needs. The worldwide event is sponsored by the Tim Tebow Foundation (TTF) and this past February, was hosted by 537 churches in 16 countries including Albania, Burundi, Canada, Ecuador, Guatemala, Haiti, Kenya, Mexico, New Zealand, Nicaragua, Peru, Philippines, South Africa, Uganda, Ukraine and the US to celebrate 90,000 honored guests with special needs. Here’s how:
- Visit Tim Tebow Foundation’s official website. Learn more about Night to Shine at timtebowfoundation.org.
- Refer a church today. Fill out this form to refer your church or another church you believe would be a good fit for Night to Shine. Please note: this form is not the application. However, by filling out the form you’re providing a way for TTF to share more information and the official application form with the church.
- Give. You don’t have to host Night to Shine to bring faith, hope and love to children around the world. You and your church can donate once, monthly or even fundraise for Night to Shine.
- If there is already a church in your area, please volunteer! Each of these events requires a large team of dedicated volunteers to make it possible.
- Join us in prayer for all of the churches already hosting, each incredible guest who will attend, that the event is a blessing to everyone involved and most importantly, that God is glorified!
