Overview

With a population of over 8.6 million, New York City has a lot to offer. But there are also 78,600 homeless and a poverty rate of 43.6%. Send Relief partners with Graffiti 2 Ministries in the Bronx with a simple mission for New York City: Meet the need first. When you care enough about someone to meet their needs, meaningful relationships develop and doors to the gospel open. The New York Ministry Center provides a wide variety of services—food for the homeless, training programs, tutoring, high school equivalency, case work, job training and creation and church planting. Through your support, this ministry center can reach the people of New York with the hope of Jesus Christ.

Our Impact

During the COVID-19 crisis, the New York Ministry Center provided nearly 50,000 meals to neighbors in the city.

Leadership

Andrew Mann

Born and raised in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, while in college at New York University, Andrew first encountered urban mission work through the ministry of East 7th Baptist Church/Graffiti Community Ministries. Andrew finished his degree at Wheaton College in Chicago, where he spent his weekends in the Humboldt Park neighborhood leading a Bible study for boys. The influences of these cities and ministry experiences changed the direction of his life. Invited by Graffiti to join an effort of community-ministry-based church planting in the most challenging areas of New York City, Andrew moved to the Mott Haven neighborhood of the South Bronx in 2005. He began the work of Graffiti 2 Community Ministries and planted Graffiti 2 Baptist Church. Today, he continues to pastor the church and serve as Executive Director of the ministry. Andrew married his wife JoAnn in August 2023; they serve together and live with their missionary dog, Jocko.
