Hurricane Ian crashed into Florida’s Gulf Coast on September 28 as a Category-4 storm, bringing catastrophic winds, rains and storm surge to cities in its direct path. The massive storm carried 155 mile-per-hour winds, putting the storm just below the Category-5 threshold. Florida residents are facing widespread flooding, power outages and wind damage to homes.
Send Relief is working closely with Southern Baptist Disaster Relief (SBDR) teams to meet immediate needs in the aftermath of the storm.
So far, Send Relief has sent three shipments packed with bottled water, temporary roofing, shockwave and other emergency supplies to Florida to help SBDR volunteers serve affected communities. Send Relief also deployed a rescue boat manned by North Carolina and Tennessee Baptist disaster relief teams for search and rescue missions immediately after the storm passed.
Volunteers are engaging in emergency feeding, flood recovery, debris clean-up and other relief efforts at several response sites across Southwest Florida.
Your gifts to Send Relief’s 2022 Hurricane Response Fund are vital to these relief efforts.
Thank you for praying for the people impacted by this massive hurricane, as well as the many volunteers that will be meeting immediate and long-term needs in Florida.
Help families impacted by Hurricane Ian!
Provide hope to people impacted by the storm.
