For the ones neglected, the ones forgotten, the ones in need, we must step up. The need for foster and adoptive families in North America, along with programs to care for vulnerable women and children overseas, has never been greater. At Send Relief, we truly believe in the words of James 1:27—’Religion that is pure and undefiled before God is this: to care for orphans and widows in their affliction.’
At the heart of this ministry is compassion for vulnerable families. Often, lives are touched by drug and alcohol use, abuse, neglect, disease, and poverty. Our goal is to demonstrate unconditional love to at-risk women and children, support reconciliation of the Gospel, and help foster and adopted families as they become the hands, feet, and voice of Jesus.
You can help meet needs by providing meals, clothes, and skills training to these families. Additionally, if you’re interested in becoming a foster or adopted parent, we can connect you with others on the same journey and provide resources to help you get started in that ministry.
STARTING A FOSTER CARE MINISTRY IN YOUR CHURCH
With the increasing number of children in foster care, it is essential that every church in North America understands the need and how to contribute to the solution.Raising up foster families is only one way the church can participate in serving children and families in need. Supporting the foster families—and the biological families—is critical to holistically ministering in the area of foster care.
Send Relief can assist you in beginning a foster care ministry in your church. There is no better time to start than today.
